Miss Sophie’s Birthday

ARTISTIC AND TECHNICAL SHEET

DESCRIPTION

Written by the British authorLauri Wylie for theater in the twenties. It is a sketch in which two comedians Antonia Jaster (servant) y Manuel Luis (Miss Sophie) stage a dinner service on the occasion of the celebration of the 90th birthday of the lady.

SKETCH

The dinner takes place in an English atmosphere in which the lady, Miss Sophie, each year usually her closest friends: Mr Pommeroy, Mr Winterbottom, Sir Toby and Admiral Von Schneider. The problem is that Miss Sophie has a considerable age and has outlived all her friends, being left alone in the celebration.

Her servant James (equally old) that evening serves a soup for starters (Miss Sophie orders a sherry with this course), a North Sea fish (with white wine), chicken (with champagne), and finally fruit for dessert (with Porto)..
